Description:A case of a 7 year old girl with swirled hyperpigmentation of the skin (trunk and extremities). In the newborn period she presented inflammatory lesions of the skin but she continues to grow and develop normally.
Comments:This 7 year old girl demonstrates the swirled hyperpigmentation on the trunk and extremities typical of incontinentia pigmenti. Shortly after birth she developed linear urticarial papules and blisters, and a skin biopsy showed eosinophilic spongiosis in the epidermis. She has no serious complications from her disorder and continues to grow and develop normally.
