Description:Unilateral erythema and edema of the upper eyelid and periorbital area.
Comments:This 22-year-old woman developed painful unilateraland erythema and swelling of the left upper eyelid and periorbital area. On examination a follicular red papule was found on the lateral lid margin typical of infection of the glands of Zeis or Moll. Hordeolum or stye is usually caused by Staphylococcus aureus infection.. She was treated with warm compresses and oral cefadroxil 500 mg bid for 7 days.
