Description:deep seated skin colored to red discrete and confluent nodules and plaques
Comments:This 8-day-old boy with a history of perinatal asphyxia and seizures developed subcutaneous fat necrosis on the second day of life with widespread nodules and plaques on the back, abdomen, and proximal extremities. Althouhg his seizures were well managed with oral anticonsulsants and he was feeding an already back to birth weight, his serum calcium and ionized calcium were persistently elevated at least until age 4 weeks. Further evaluation was pending.
