| Description: | symmetric generalized discrete and confluent red annular papules and plaques some with dusky centers | |||||
| Comments: | Four days ago this healthy 6-year-old girl developed a low grade fever and red eruption on the thighs which dissemianted over the following 24 hours. She subsequently developed dusky ererythema in the center of the expanding annular plaques, painful swelling of the lower extremities, and refused to walk, but this resolved within 24 hours. When these images were acquired, her symptoms were improving and she was afebrile. She had a cough and rhinorrhea as did her siblings and one of her parents. Viral cultures from a nasopharyngeal swab were pending.
