Image Name: melanoma_1_030815   File Type: jpg
Diagnosis: MELANOMA   Category: neoplasm, malignant /
hyperpigmentation
Body Site: nose   Age: 78 years
Contributor: Ben Chong

Description: There is dense epidermal staining with AE1/3 which stains for cytokeratin. This is a normal finding in the epidermis.
Comments: The absence of AE1/3 in the tumor is characteristic of a melanoma and excludes a spindle cell tumor.
