| Body Site: | leg / thigh / thigh | Age: | 53 years | ||
| Contributor: | Azzam Bittar, MD | ||||
| Description: | generalized symmetric red indurated papules, plaques,and nodules with overlying scale, ulceration, crusting and hypo and hyperpigmentation | ||||
| Comments: | A 53-year-old Human Immunodeficiency virus positive man with a CD4 count of 97 on antiretroviral therapy was evaluated for pruritic red plaques on the extremities, trunk, and right ear. A skin biopsy showed a dense nodular infiltrate, of large atypical lymphocytes, smaller lymphocytes, and some eosinophiles and neutrophils consistent with lymphomatois papulosis. Immunohistochemical studies performed to further evaluate the immunophenotype of the lymphocytes showed that the infiltrate was comprised of CD30 T cells with a few CD20, CD8, and CD7 positive cells. | ||||

| Diagnosis: | LYMPHOMA, T-CELL | Category: | neoplasm, leukemia/lymphoma / neoplasm, malignant | ||
| Body Site: | total body / back arm | Age: | 45 years | ||
| Contributor: | Arshad Khan, MD | ||||
| Description: | disseminated confluent red scaly patches and scattered crusted ulcers, plaques and tumors | ||||
| Comments: | This 45-year-old man had a 15 year history of chronic dermatitis treated symptomatically. On recent evaluation he had polymorphic lesions with eczematous dermatitis, ulcers, crusts, and tumors. A chest s-ray demonstrated hilar adenopathy, a complete blood count showed eosinophilia, and skin biopsies showed changes consistent with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. | ||||

| Description: | lax skin folds in intertriginous areas and indurated hyperpigmented plaque with overlying scale on right deltoid region | ||||
| Comments: | A 30-year-old man developed lax skin folds hanging from axilla, neck, groin, and abdomen with a swelling of right deltoid muscle of 5 years ago. Skin biopsy showed epidermotrophism with dermal granulamatous infiltrates containing giant cells. Muscle biopsy revealed T-cell lymphoma. Immunohistochemistry was positive for lymphoma. | ||||
