Comments: This 38-year-old man developed widepspread pruritic violaceous papules and plaques in sun exposed areas including the cheeks, nose, forehead, scalp, nape of neck, ear lobes, dorsa of the hands, wrists, and lower forearms about one year earlier. Some of the small papules became confluent to form large plaques. He also had arthralgias of the small joints of his hands and positive antinuclear and anti-Ro antibodies. He improved with strict sun protection measures, oral hyroxychloroquine, tapering predsinolone and topical steroids.
