Description: Fingerprint-like structures are seen on dermoscopy.
Comments: A 72-year-old man developed an enlarging pigmented patch of his right hand. Malignant melanoma was clinically suspected. A dermoscopy was performed (x20 and x50) and revealed fingerprint-like structures in favor a solar lentigo. A biopsy was performed and pathology confirmed the diagnosis of solar lentigo. Fingerprint-like structures are a dermoscopic sign in favor of two possibles lesions: flat seborrheic keratosis or lentigo.A 72-year-old man developed an enlarging pigmented patch of his right hand. Description: dermoscopy of lentigo maligna melanoma
Comments: A 69-year-old woman was evaluated for an enlarging pigmented lesion of her right cheek. A malignant lentigo melanoma was clinically suspected. Two biopsies were performed with the help of dermoscopy to outline the borders of the lesion. Pathology revealed a lentigo maligna melanoma. On this dermoscopic image (X25), one can see slate-gray dots and globules leading to annular-granular pattern which is typical of lentigo maligna melanoma.
