Description: generalized fine violaceous papular eruption and desquamation
Comments: This 6-year-old girl with a recent history of sore throat developed fine bumps over her arms and trunk. Her mother was alarmed by peeling in the groin, shoulder, neck and digits which appeared a few days later. Although a throat culture was negative, anti-steptolysin antibody was greater than 250. This case prepare by senior medical student at the University of Mississippi Arlene Chiemprabha.

Comments: This healthy pre-schooler developed an expanding pink plaque on his nose 3 months ago. The lesion improved somewhat with topical emollients, antifungal, and steroid cream but recurred when the topical agents were discontinued. Although a potassium hydroxide preparation was negative, he was given oral griseofulvin for 2 weeks, and the eruption cleared.

Description: symmetric eczematous patches with well demarcated erythema, scaling,and crusting
Comments: This healthy 11-year-old girl had a history of chronic persistent itchy dermatitis on the upper posterior thighs for 3 years. The symptoms and eruption cleared during the summer and recurrent each September. Although she tested positive for nickel allergy on a patch test, she always wore pants to school, and her legs had no direct contact with the metal legs on her chair in the classroom. Careful detective work suggested a probably toilet seat contact dermatitis, and she is now using a portable toilet seat cover.
