| Description: | swelling of the right cheek | ||||
| Comments: | This healthy 11-year-old boy was evaluated for painless swelling of the right cheek. Oral examination revealed a severely decayed ilsilateral second maxillary molar. Dental radiographs showed an abscess tracking into the buccal space. The lesion was painless, because the nerve root was no longer viable. He was given 10 days of amoxicillin prior to root canal surgery. | ||||
