| Comments: | This otherwise healthy 15 month old twin girl had a 2 month history of diffuse, progressive hair loss with striking geometric pattern involving the right anterior, parietal, temporal and vertex of the scalp. She was noted to pull her hair forcefully multiple times during the examination. A component of alopecia areata was also suspected. Eyebrows and eyelashes were intact. Trichogram was normal. Unlike trichotillomania in older children, hair pulling has a uniformly good prognosis over the course of several months to years. | ||||
