Comments: A rapidly growing tumor developed on the right forearm of this 54-year-old man over the preceding 2 months. Note the surrounding chronic actinic changes. Keratoacanthoma is rapidly growing benign epithelial neoplasm that simulates squamous cell carcinoma. It is impossible to make a definitive clinical distinction between keratoacanthoma and squamous cell carcinoma.

Description: symmetric scaling and erythema.
Comments: This 50-year-old man had a several year history of asymptomatic symmetric scaling and erythema affecting his finger tips and soles that spreaded to the tops of the fingers and feet. He was initially misdiagnosed with tinea pedis, but he did not improve with a two weeks course of oral terbinafine 250 mg qd and topical miconazole cream. Later, he cleared with topical calcipotriol plus betamethasone dipropionate ointment.

Comments: A 48 year old man with a history of chronic actinic damamge and immunosuppression associated with renal transplantaiton developed a rapidly growing pink tumor with a central dimple filled with scale. He has had multiple squamous cell carcinomas and keratoacanthomas on sun exposed sites since his renal transplant 10 years earlier.
