Comments: This healthy 12-year-old boy developed asymptomatic pink plaques and patches on his back and scalp. The scalp lesions were associated with hair loss. Skin biopsy showed the typical changes of alopecia mucinosa. A full medical examination was otherwise normal, and abdominal and chest computerized tomogram, complete blood count, and metabolic blood panel were also normal.
