| Description: | yellowiing of nail with distal subungual scale and onycholysis | ||||
| Comments: | This 8 year old girl had a 4 year history of yellowing of the medial aspect of the left great toe nail. She also had some distal subungual scale and onycholysis. A fungal culture from the subungual debris grew Trichophyton rubrum. Careful examination of the family revealed tinea pedis in her father. The nail cleared with 5 months of treatment with oral itraconazole. | ||||
