| Comments: | This 50-year-old man had a history of chronic plaque psoriasis for the last 10 years. A few years ago he developed multiple superficial pits on the surfaces of his finger nails. Nail pitting is typical of psoriasis and results from the loss of parakeratotic cells from the surfaces of the nail plates. Separation of the distal nail plate from the underlying nail bed results in onycholysis another characteristic nail finding. | ||||
