	*Description:*	Within the submucosa, there are numerous sebaceous glands, forming papules. These glands show mild hyperplasia and some directly connect to the overlying mucosal surface. There is no cytologic atypia.
	*Comments:*	This biopsy was submitted from a 48-year-old Asian female's labia. Fordyce spots are considered a normal physiologic variant and represent sebaceous glands, or sebaceous gland hyperplasia, in mucosal sites, i.e. oral cavity, vulva. They often present as yellow clustered papules and are not commonly biopsied. This case shows the typical histology. There are numerous sebaceous glands, some directly connecting to the mucosal surface.
