| Body Site: | lip / face cheek | Age: | 12 years | ||

| Description: | rubbery nontender, nonpitting swelling of the lower lip and left cheek | ||||
| Comments: | This healthy 12 year old boy began with intermittent swelling of the left side of his lower lip 2 years earlier. The swelling subsequently spread to the right side of the lower lip and the medial aspect of the left cheek. He also noted furrowing of the tongue that became more prominent over the preceding 18 months. The facial and lingual lesions were not symptomatic. An extensive evaluation for inflammatory bowel disease, sarcoidosis, and underlying collagen vascular disease failed to reveal any underlying medical problems. | ||||
