A 12-year-old girl developed swelling and restriction of motion of the right middle finger 6 months ago and the left wrist a month ago. She was afebrile and laboratory findings were normal with the exception of the antinuclear antibody titer that was positive at 1:80. MRI indicated inflammatory joint fluid in the left wrist and carpometacarpal and metacarpophalangeal joints of the thumb and on the right proximal interphalangeal joint of the middle finger and the interphalangeal joint of the thumb.
