Comments

Keloids are indurated and variably pruritic cutaneous scars resulting from exuberant wound healing. The differential includes hypertrophic scars which exhibit more cellular collagen bundles arranged in parallel arrays.

Description

There are broad, haphazardly arranged bands of highly eosinophilic collagen within the dermis. A perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate is also present in an otherwise unremarkable superficial dermis.
