This 50-year-old male, non-smoker, non-alcoholic, treated for enteric fever with ciprofloxacin for 10 days, developed asymptomatic black discoloration of his tongue. A potassium hydroxide preparation of scale scraped from the tongue showed fungal elements consistent with with candidiasis.
