Comments

This healthy 12-year-old boy developed a generalized papular eruption in association with a streptococcal pharyngitis. Note the relative sparing of the nose and the discrete nature of many of the lesions. This patient demonstrates the variability of the scarlatiniform eruption found in scarlet fever.
