This healthy 3-year-old boy with low grade fever and a history of diarrhea 2 days ago developed a red papular eruption which evolved to elongated vesicles on a red base on his hands, feet, and buttocks. Several punched out erosions were noted on his hard palate. These findings were typical of hand-foot-mouth syndrome, and his symptoms and skin lesions resolved 2 days later.
