This infant was born at 35 weeks gestation following an uncomplicated pregnancy. Depressed and somewhat macerated erosions were noted at birth on the trunk, ears, and axillae. Bacterial and viral cultures were negative. The eruption healed within weeks leaving depressed, supple reticulated scars. A skin biopsy of the erosions revealed a neutrophilic and eosinophilic infiltrate, and immunofluorescence studies were negative. Over the next few years she developed occasional erosions which healed quickly. At 2 years of age she was developing normally and only slightly behind her twin sister.
