Comments

This 12 year old boy began with a small papule on the left elbow a week earlier. A potassium hydroxide preparation of scale obtained from the border of the annular plaque demonstrated hyphae typical of tinea corporis. The edematous papules ginving the appearance of vesicles is typical of the hypersensitivity reaction that can occur in patients who are sensitized to Trichophyton antigens.
