Comments

This healthy 9-year-old girl developed progressive stiff skin over her legs, arms, abdomen, lower back, hands, and feet. The disorder started 3 months earlier following a streptococcal pharyngitis. Note the fissures on the back of her knees. A punch skin biopsy showed substitutive collagenosis, and Alcian blue staining for mucin did not demonstrate an increase in interstitial mucin.
