Comments

This 13-year-old girl was evaluated for a rash that appeared on her hands, ear lobe, lip, and oral mucosa 2 weeks earlier. She also complained of weight loss, fever, and joint pain. She had a symmetrical partially blanching red macules on her hands, discoid papules and plaques on her earlobes and lip,and ulcers on her palate. Her blood pressure was 151/71, and laboratory tests showed a high titer double stranded antinuclear antibody. Skin biopsy showed a vaculopathy consistent with collagen vascular disease. These images were taken by Dr. Dian Kirby.
