Comments

A healthy newborn boy was evaluated for generalized 1-2 mm pustules. The child appeared well. Bacterial culture of one of the pustules was negative, and a Gram stain revealed neutrophils without organisms. Transient neonatal pustular melanosis (or rather pustulosis in this light pigmented child) is a benign self-limited eruption which resolved quickly without treatment.
