This 2-year-old girl experienced her 6 episode of recurrent Herpes simplex infection on her right thumb. Her initial outbreak occurred 2 weeks after exposure to chicken pox and 3 weeks after receiving varicella vaccine. The recurrent lesions are usually minimally symptomatic, heal in in 2 weeks, and seem to be coming less frequently.
