A 65 year old woman with erosive psoriatic arthritis refused immunosuppressive therapy despite poor inflammatory control with nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs. Psoriatic arthritis is a seronegative spondyloarthropathy involving the ligaments, tendons, fascia, and joints. Psoriatic arthritis affects 5-8% of psoriatic patients and typically develops in persons aged 35-55 years old. The course of psoriatic arthritis is characterized by flares and remissions. Approximately 7% of patients eventually require musculoskeletal surgery.
