Comments

This 32-year-old woman developed a rapidly-growing, well circumscribed, erythematous nodule at a prior wart treatment site. The biopsy findings were typical of a pyogenic granuloma

Description

Beneath a focally ulcerated and crusted epidermis, aggregates of capillaries and venules with plump epithelial cells are present within an edematous stroma. Pyogenic granuloma, also known as lobular capillary hemangioma, is a benign vascular proliferation characterized by abundant small-caliber vessels, edematous stroma, and eventually widening fibrous septations.
