A 15 year old girl with spina bifida, chronic lymphedema, recurrent cellulitis and below the ankle amputation of the right leg developed rapidly advancing erythema and edema of the right leg associated with fever and chills. She deffervesced quickly on parenteral antibiotics, and cultures from the ulcer on the stump and blisters that developed over the red patches grew Staphylococcus aureus.
