This healthy 12-year-old boy developed a slowly enlarging cluster of bronze to violaceous patches on his right upper inner thigh. The eruption which had been present for over 6 monnths was not symptomatic, and a skin biopsy showed chnages typical of a pigmented purpuric dermatosis.
