Comments

These findings are characteristic of neurothekeoma. Neurothekomas present as adymptomatic dome-shaped nodules between 0.5-3cm or more in diameter on the face and upper extremities. Although the origin of these tumors is unclear, there are features of schwannian, perineural, fibroblastic, and smooth muscle differentiation.

Description

In the dermis there is a vaguely nodular proliferation of spindle cells with abundant clear cytoplasm. The cells have a somewhat whorled pattern. There is minimal cytologic atypia.
