This 66-year-old woman noted minimally tender nodules on her lower legs 5 months earlier. Although she was healthy and she denied fevers, she did complain of nght sweats for several months. She had a recent positive PPD and never remembered having a PPD test in the past. Her sister died 30 years earlier of ruberculosis. The patient was treated with nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs and was referred to the infectious disease department for recommendations about antituberculous therapy.
