Comments

The lymphocytes demonstrated T-cell clonality by polymerase chain reaction assay and were CD4 positive, CD7 negative, and CD8 negative. CD30 marked only rare cells. These changes were consistent with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.

Description

There is an extensive superficial and deep infiltrate of lymphocytes admixed with eosinophils ikn the dermis. The lymphocytes are hyperchromatic and pleomorphic with large irregular cells and mitotic figures. There is minimal epidermotropism.
