This 75-year-old man with chronic stasis dermatitis, worse on the right, developed unilateral leg swelling and discomfort. He also noted the recent onset of red papules over the first and second toes and the dorsum of the foot. Acroangiodermatitis is associated with a number of underlying vascular problems including venous hypertension, paralysis of the affected limb, congenital or acquired arteriovenous shunt, or damage to vessels from trauma. Biopsies from affected skin show changes similar to stasis dermatitis and may resemble the findings of Kaposi sarcoma. Patients with venous hypertension may receive symptomatic relief from pressure garments, and superficial papules and nodules may respond to laser ablation.
