This 24-year-old heavy machine operator pricked the callosities on his hands and developed red, hot, tender swellings on the web spaces of the fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand and the third and fourth fingers of his left hand. He also developed recurrent abscesses on both palms. This episode of infection responded to incision and drainage and oral cefadroxil.
