A 22-year-old man employed in an automobile battery manufacturing facility sustained chemical burns when a jar of concentrated sulphuric acid spilled on his back when an autorickshaw which he was driving collided with another vehicle. As the shirt which he was wearing could not be removed immediately there was some delay in initiating first aid. This resulted in extensive ulceration of the area of contact which was healing slowly
