An 80-year-old woman with a history of breast cancer developed large scaly red patches and plaques on her chest, back and right arm. Skin biopsies revealed recurrent breast carcinoma. Inflammatory carcinoma occurs in less than 2 percent of patients with breast cancer and results from direct extention of underlying tumor and subsequent dermal lymphatic obstruction.
