This 10-year-old boy developed a widespread itchy papulovesicular eruption on his trunk, face, scalp, and extremities. He had similar lesions on his palate and oral mucosa. The eruption was preceded by a few days of fever and flu-like symptoms. New crops of papules appeared for 3 days and rapidly became vesicular before crusting and healing over 7 days later. He was able to return to school 10 days after the onset of symptoms.
