This 12 year old girl developed a widespread itchy papulovesicular eruption on her trunk, neck, face, scalp, and extremities. She had similar lesions on her palate and oral mucosa. The eruption was preceded by a few days of fever and flu-like symptoms. New crops of papules appeared for 3 days and rapidly became vesicular before crusting and healing over 7 days. She was able to return to school 10 days after the onset of symptoms.
