This 6-month-old girl developed painful,symmetric, vesiculobullous, crusted plaques on a red base on her outer labial folds, perineum, and upper inner thighs, but sparing the crural folds. These changes are most consistent with a primary contact irritant dermatitis.

Description

Symmetric, scaly, crusted plaques on red baseThis 6 months old child presented with a painful,symmetric, vesiculobullous and crusted eruption on red base involving her outer labial folds,perineum and upper inner thighs,but sparing the crural folds. There was a history of regular use of diapers for the last two months.Diaper dermatitis is caused by the irritant effect of ammoniacal urine.
