A 50-year-old woman was evaluated for a slowly growing swelling on the left shin of 5 months duration andwhich was originally surgically excised 7 months ago. On examination there was a firm globular swelling of the left shin with a well healed vertical scar. There was no regional lymmphadenopathy. Gthe grossly excised tumor measured 10 X 8 cms. Cut surface shows gray white globular areas with focal hemorrhages.There are no areas of necrosis. Histopathology showed a demal tumor composed of spindle cells arranged in a vague storifom pattern with infiltration into the deeper adipose tissue. Histological features were cosistent with dermatofibosarcoma protuberans.
