Comments

This 30-year-old man was evaluated for a 4 cm tumor on the upper left chest which had been present for 3 months. This tumor recurred after a similar lesion was excised a year ago. Note several smaller nodules which recurred in the old scar. Histological examination revealed hapazardly arranged spindle cells having moderate anisokaryosis and vesicular nuclei. Tumor cells were seen infiltrating the subcutaneous fat and entrapping nerve bundles. There were 12 mitoses/10 high power fields and no areas of necrosis. Histological features were consistent with Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans.
