Comments

A 45-year-old woman developed a bullous eruption on her left leg. The erythema was very well demarcated by with only minimal involvement below the sock line. For ten days she had applied twice daily ketoprofen gel. Ketoprofen, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is often used to treat minor conditions (arthrosis, tendinitis). NSAIDs are often responsable for cutaneous photosensitivity reactions during the summer when taken orally or applied topically. In this patient, the sharp line of demarcation occurred because the foot was protected from sun exposure by the sock.
