Comments

This 14 month girl developed crusting around the mouth and nose followed within 24 hours by generalized tender erythema and crusting in all of her skin creases. Her mucous membranes were not involved. A culture from her nose grew Staphylococcus aureus. She improved quickly on anti-staphylococcal antibiotics. Image Dscn 1222 shows normal lips and bulbar conjunctivae.
