This 7-year-old boy developed a round ulcerated lesion with a central adherent crust that started as a pustule with surrounding erythema one week earlier. Regional lymphadenopathy was present. Ecthyma is an ulcerative pyoderma of the skin caused by Group A beta-hemolytic streptococci .The pateint was treated with topical mupirocin and oral cephalexin for seven days.
