Fibroepithelioma (of Pinkus) is considered by many authors to be a variant of basal cell carcinoma. These lesions typically present on the back.

Description

Histologic sections of skin show a lesion with multiple attachment points to the overlying epidermis. It consists of delicate anastamosing cords of basophilic cells within a loose fibrous stroma. Peritumoral clefting is present.
