Description

Histologic sections of skin show numerous large mononuclear cells containing reniform nuclei with prominent nucleoli and abundant pink cytoplasm infiltrating the epidermis. The cells were also seen infiltrating the dermis in a perivascular and periadnexal pattern. The area of epidermal infiltration was also spongiotic and contained hemorrhage and overlying seroinflammatory crust. A few admixed lymphocytes were also seen in the dermis. The adjacent epidermis was otherwise unremarkable.
