Comments

This 56-year-old woman had a small, hypertrophic, curved thumbnail due to a traumatic injury as a child. Micronychia means small nails. Onychogryphosis occurs when the nail plate becomes hyperkeratotic and hypertrophic secondary to poor grooming and/or trauma. Onychogryphosis can also be associated with impaired peripheral circulation and psoriasis.
